How to research a CS2 trade-up
01 · Find a candidate
Filter by collection, input rarity, StatTrak, cost and expected return. Expected value weights every possible output by its probability; it does not predict your next result.
02 · Check the assumptions
Open a contract to compare input floats, available quantities and outcome prices. Consensus pricing is the default. Raw cheapest-listing mode is available under advanced pricing for independent research.
03 · Verify and record
Check the actual listing, fees, trade locks and market access before buying. Use the trade-up calculator for your exact inputs and Results to record what happened.
Does a positive expected return guarantee profit?
No. Any individual trade-up can lose money. Prices can change, listings can disappear, and sale fees or float premiums can erase a theoretical margin.
Is the trade-up finder free?
Yes. Browsing, comparing prices and researching trade-ups are free. If affiliate links are activated, they will be disclosed; commissions do not determine the price ranking.
